Darfur Week is about empowering students and Franciscan colleges and universities to do three things: refuse to ignore the crisis in Darfur and the failure of the international community to respond effectively, unite with Darfur advocates from Franciscan campuses across the country, and act to use our collective voice to compel our leaders, and our own communities, to take all possible steps to resolve the crisis. Our biggest asset in accomplishing these goals is YOU – your passion for peace in Darfur, your commitment to doing whatever peace in Darfur requires and your creativity in figuring out how to do it most effectively.
The Darfur Week blog is a tool and resource for you to effectively resfuse to ignore, unite, and act for peace in Darfur. Use it to get to know Darfur advocates on other campuses and to exchange ideas and tips for organizing events and becoming effective advocates. We'll also be using the blog in the coming weeks to post updates about Darfur Week.
